Things I have started

Oregon State Linux Users Group (with Brandon Philips)

Oregon State University did not have a community focused around free software, so we started one. So far there have been an overwhelming number of interested students. As a group, we have had very successful installfests, kernel hacking workshops, and Mozilla extension reviewfests.

Things I have put a lot of energy into

Mozilla

As a system admin for the Mozilla Project I have spent time helping keep the server infrastructure up and available. It is hard to show some of the infrastructure projects I have worked on. Visit a few of the following sites. If you get a fast and appropriate response, that means I am doing my job correctly.

Open Source Lab

As one of the initial students I helped admin many different open source projects. The open source lab is especially rewarding because I directly work and give back to school, while helping the open source projects build their communities.

Free software in education

Oregon State is in a position to adopt open source practices into the formal curriculum. This is important to me because I want my school and open source to be successful. More information on this post.
