This Makes we Want an iPad

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

This has to be the best iPad case on the market.

Dodocase

Best part about it? Two good friends, Pat Buckley and Craig Dalton are some of geniuses behind. 100% made in San Francisco. Great job guys, I’m glad your ideas are paying off!

Hungry Scientist in the NYT

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Check it out! Pat’s book was on the front page of the dining section in the New York Times today! I went down to Borders to get a copy, and while I was there did a little clean up of the “Reference” section…

This is a hack I’m working on … trying to grab the daily news from the web and make an episode.

Vidoop contest!

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Vidoop (and openID provider, among other things) held a contest, asking people “How do you Identify?“. Well, I made a submission, and won! Woot!

Vidoop — thank you! … and thank you for the fresh look at authentication!

I love miro more than Chris Blizzard

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

… because I donated $200.

Along with a weak attempt at trumping the blizz, it will help Miro sustain. These amazing folks are out trying to liberate media. They are taking the control of our daily impression away from empires and enabling us all to get our message out. And they all do it while living together in a giant house on barely any resources. Hooorraaahhh.

Anyone else willing to match Chris Blizzard or myself? Please donate now, they really need the help.

Here are some of my favorite channels I’ve found only because of Miro.

  • therealnews – a daily, independent, news segment.
  • Global Pulse – they take a topic (weekly) and report it from various media outlets around the world. US v. Iran? See how it is reported from China, Russia, and the US — only a *few* differences…
  • Shralp! Snowboarding – always great to watch people hucking off mountain tops with your neighbors on the plane
  • A-Z of bushcraft – P is for plants, S is for spoon… check out how to be useful post-apocalypse

I <3 Miro. If you do too, now is the time to show a little love.

OpenID ftw!

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

I was kind of scared of using openid because I really wanted to use alex.polvi.net, but not set up an open id server. However, it is possible to delegate a domain to another openid server! Wooo hooo. This means that I can use alex.polvi.net for polvi.myopenid.com. This is awesome.

Here is how to do the delegation!

I’m on the boat, lets sail!

something new (for me)!

Saturday, November 25th, 2006

Ah ha! I made a podcast! It is super low-fi, as I just spoke into my headphones … but eh, you can sort of tell what happened. At least the music is clear.

The playlist:

* Say Hi To Your Mom – Super
* The Album Leaf – Always For You
* Joshua Radin – These Photographs
* Big City Rock – All Of The Above

Get it here!
