State of the Addons Report: 80% compatible by usage
June 26th, 2008Earlier this week, sometime around Sunday (June 22nd), our add-on compatibility hit 80%. This was our goal through out the launch, so it’s exciting to hit it!
A big thank you to all the developers who helped make 1800 Firefox 3 add-ons (as of writing) available on AMO.
If you are still hanging on to Firefox 2 because you are afraid that your add-ons are not compatible, now is the time to try Firefox 3! Let us know how it goes.

The biggest whine I’ve seen about Firefox 3 is that it doesn’t have an addon to use the Firefox 2 address bar. There’s just no satisfying some people…

I’m using Portable Firefox 3 for now for some of my browsing. I’m still missing my theme and a few other addons.
When I’ve got what I want running on my Portable FF3, then I’ll go full bore.

Well… if you don’t mind the extra keystrokes, you can get the old Location Bar behavior by starting with “http://”. Not that I would.

Note that usage statistics on AMO are still not right. For a lot of my themes, the statistics are attached to the wrong key in the database.
For example for Walnut, the corresponding statistics (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/statistics/addon/122) say 0 users, but the actual usage statistics for Walnut are at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/statistics/addon/221 (note the similarity on the number!).
Walnut actually has about 164.000 active users, but it is missing from your Addons Report!
So as long as https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435075 is not fixed, your Addons Report is not really complete!

Nice status bars, but why does it only show Firefox 3?
AMO is also about Thunderbird, Seamonkey, SunBird and other applications…

Any specific reason the charts aren’t updated since july 11?
According do mfinkle’s blog [1] the stats should be updated daily.

@onno, They are meant to track compatibility with Firefox 3 … since it was a major release. If we needed to do the same for the next Thunderbird, or Seamonkey release, we could!
